Souna and Savak, they was born almost from the same class social. Souna lived with her mother and her step father. She got a secret lover from the high class social. That made her step father unhappy. Somewhere, in the same city, Savak got no family, he lived alone. He was a song composer.
One night Savak found Souna in front of The Royal Palace. She got nowhere to go. Her mother, to please the husband, decided stop recognizing her own daughter. Savak asked Souna to stay with him and they became step brother and sister. They really care for each other, but each got their respective lover. Savak also loved someone from the high class social.
You could say it’s a predicable story. But the story is well written with its particular style of witting. I couldn’t put it down. It’s true that most of Cambodian story are sad and sometime we need to stop. We need to stop because to be sad, the writer invented too much things and the story became unrealistic. It surpassed the reality and most of the time it made us sick. But this one, the writer found his own way to entertain the audiences, even with its predicable ending, we still decide to continue and see how it happen.
It was written by Mr. TIN VORSA since 1972 and republished by Mr. SREY BUNDON in 2004. It contains of 172 pages. It quite long time that I didn’t finish any book. It’s hard nowadays to find time to finish a book. But this one is a love story, a very good one. The hero has his clear personality, good enough for us to spend one or two hours to see how people during the 70s, resolve their heart problem
This is the first book I would recommend for you,
See you at the library.
