I assume that you already have a blog that have good contents and minimum traffic of 100 visitors per day. You might want to make money blogging. Where to start? I will show 3 ways of how to make money blogging that works for me, it will work for you too:

There are many ways to make money blogging. You need to try and test witch one works for your blog. I will mentioned 3 ways of how to make money blogging. I will explain also advantage and disadvantage of each type of making money blogging. You can see how it works for my blog, then you can decide which one is the best for you or you can combine them together.
Pay Per Click Program
The definition of Pay Per Click program is quite simple. You get paid when someone click on the link. I am using Google Adsense to monetize my blog. This is my first make money blogging system. It helps me to make small profits from my blog. You can see on the left, my prove of revenue that I get from putting Google Adsense on my blog.
It didn’t work this way at the beginning. The revenue doesn’t stable, even today. Sometime it works well, someone it doesn’t. But I tried to optimize it until I can reach this way. It was hard for me to understand how it works. I might do a separated post later, dedicated especially on how to increase Adsense revenue. But first of all, to make you easy to understand, I will try to explain hereafter how Google Adsense work. After you sign up with Google Adsense, Google will display relevant links at the position that you set up the code on your blog. When someone click on that link, you get paid.
How much you get paid depends on 3 factors:
- Page Impression is the number total of how many time Google Adsense Display on your blog on the daily basic.
- Click Rate is the number of click on the daily basic, for example if the ads display 168 times and you have 3 click on your ads, the Click Rate is 1.78%
- Cost Per Click is the amount of money that advertiser set to pay you when someone click on their ads.
To calculate the Adsense revenue, multiply these 3 values, you will be able to estimate how much you will earn. For example: today the Page Impressions is 1000, you got 3 click, and the advertiser willing to pay you 0.10 USD per click. The revenue you should get from Adsense is 1000 x 1.78% x 0.10 = 1.78 USD
I tried to optimize these 3 factors on my blog, now I am quite happy with the result. If you need some help on this, you can drop comment just after this post.
Affiliate Program
Affiliate program is a way that you could earn money when someone purchase something via your affiliate link. For example if your blog is about food, you can join affiliate program that sale Cooking book. When someone click on the link to Cooking book and if he decide to buy the book, you will get commission from that purchase.
It didn’t work much for my blog because it didn’t focus on a good topic for affiliate program. It might work better for your blog if it focus on good topic. For my blog, the affiliate program gives me little revenue. There are 2 affiliate programs I am using:
1. Amazon, there are a lot of product to promote at Amazon. You can check Amazon best seller to have an idea on what kind of product you might want to promote on your blog. My blog didn’t optimize for promote any product yet, but I have in mind some products that I plan to promote here. This is a bit difficult because you need to convince people to buy the product. You need to know what is the product and maybe you have to buy it first and experience it yourself. Some bloggers are making money from Amazon, but as I said it would require a lot of effort in writing contents.
2. Share A Sale, I am promoting Exotissimo Travel because it is the best travel agent in Indochina. When someone purchase any package via my link, it would give me some commission. Since so far, I got one package sold. But I feel optimist for the agent because I know they provide good services and organize a very specific personal and family package.
Advertising Space
I am using OIO Publisher to manage my advertising space. People can purchase direct if they want to advertise on my blog. People can pay me direct via Paypal or 2checkout. To use service at 2checkout, you need to pay 49 USD to become a member, then they will charge 5.5% commission on each transaction. To get the payment, they will send you a Credit card that you can withdraw the money from any ATM machine. I have received the card from them and I used to withdraw the money from ATM in Cambodia, it works.
I actually validate two types of advertising space:
These direct sales are giving me 70 USD per month. There are still available spaces if you want to advertising on my blog. I didn’t have time to arrange a page for advertising yet, but I will do it when I have time.
If you don’t have budget to buy OIO Publisher, you have two more choices to sale text link ads on your blog:
Text Link Ads, provides Text Link Ads sale and purchase, meaning you can register your blog in their directory, if someone buy the link, you can earn 50% of the revenue. This is not a very good option because you lost 50% of the original cost. But it didn’t require you to pay anything for register. It worked for me few years ago, but now it didn’t work for me anymore. I got only one text link ads sold this month.
Linkworth, provide more sharing revenue 70/30, meaning if someone buy text link ads from your blog, you will get 70% of the revenue. It works for me almost a year ago, but now 0 link purchased via Linkworth. You can register for free and wait for the chance if any text link sold.
These are the 3 types of how to make money blogging that works for me. Google Adsense is easy to register and implement but it doesn’t stable. It didn’t guarantee you that you could earn 5 USD everyday. I think selling advertising space and affiliate program would be the more secured way to make money blogging.

I tried affiliate program but i did not make me one cent. so that i do not hope that i can earn money from this program. But google adsense is popular program that is my main income every month. but in order to make money from adsense, our site have good traffic and keyword as well. it is great that your income is increasing.

I think we failed to promote affiliate product because I didn’t spend enough time to know the product and write a good review on it.
