in Music

Billie Holidaysomeone said it’s strange to hear someone listen to Jazz in Cambodia. well it because there was one day someone made me listen to a strange music while she cooked.

i don’t even know what kind of music she was playing for me. It sound great in a lovely evening while she prepared the food. i was sitting at the table, writing the short story. after she read my draft, she said it’s sad but beautiful.

at the first time, i was not interesting much in Jazz. These days even we don’t have many choice in finding Jazz music in Phnom Penh, i still got my own chance to discovery some of the good Jazz music.

Thank to the first person who introduced me to Jazz, if i remember well, the song you played for me it’s was from John Coltrane music. Now when i hear the Jazz, it always remind me that evening …  i know i can’t get you back, it was my own mistake that i lost you.

Today i found something so romantic and inspired me into the poetry again,

It’s a very nice song from Billie Holiday, The legend of Jazz Lady
With her great voice in “I am a fool to want you”

I am a fool to want you
To want a love that can’t be true
A love that’s there for others too …

I love this song though it sounds sad but very beautiful and meaningful. Thanks for sharing. I also love Jazz, esp. Jazz music without people singing.

I guess you still feel something to her, why don’t try to do something to get her back, and if you feel it’s your mistake to lost her…do something apology to yourself and to her. It has no many chances in life for catch your favorite choice.

Well, I do agree with you apsara_cam :)
Anyway, I wanted to let KB know that I have earned a lot of Jazz CDs wherever I have gone through, each country I had been visited… the only one favorite gift for myself is to collect JAZZ’s song CDs :) As my mom has often said that, those pile of CDs could burn my body within few minutes fire… lolz
Kinda embarrassment to share such silly practical way of me… I only know I love music to die and music is my life :)
nevertheless, it’s my first time to hear from Billie Holiday today.
Thank to KB, I’m appreciated for sharing such sentimental Jazz song…
