5 Tips That Will Help You To Generate New Ideas To Write

When I was young, I had plenty of my time. I didn’t know what to write about.

Now I am turning into 39 anytime soon. I have plenty of things to write. But I don’t have time.

Why the world is so unfair? To whom I should complain?

I can only complain to myself.

To have more time I can only manage myself better. That’s the only way.

You need to stop complaining and start to use the time you can have to do things you love the most.

I love writing. I want to tell stories. Maybe this is the only thing that I can do best. I will keep doing thing I do best. I will keep writing as long as I can write.

I will share the 5 tips that will help you to generate new ideas to write for your blog or start your first novel.

Everybody can write.

What make the difference between a writer and an ordinary person is that a writer will sit to write. No matter what happen, he will make his time to sit and write. Everyday.

Or as many day as he can.

If you’re a kind of person, here is the steps you should try to get ideas what to write about.

1. Create a space for thinking

We are losing our focus on everything.

We live in a world full of distractions. Internet. Social Media. Mobile Phone. Game.

If we don’t know how to unplug ourselves from those distractions, we can’t think.

We can’t generate any idea.

Our mind is kept busy by consuming the medias. There’s no room for new ideas.

You need to create a space for thinking.

I think if you could wake up early in the morning, you should allow yourself to generate thinking. Ask your mind to flow to any direction it wants to go.

It is good if you could sit in a room quietly. People call it a meditation. But to me it is just the process of making space so that we can think and generate new ideas.

2. Curate new ideas from the internet

Sometime we can’t imagine things on our own. We need inspiration. We need to read from others and find what resonate to us the most.

3. Follow Influencers

Influencer is someone who has deep knowledge on a particular topic.

They are recognized as the thought leader in the industry.

Today you have more chance to connect with them than ever. They are everywhere on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn.

You don’t have to follow them everywhere either. Choose one or two platform that you used the most and find ways to connect with them.

You can learn from them but this is not the only advantage. A lot of people prove that when they start to follow, hang around with people they want to become, they will become like them one day.

I don’t know if it is true or not. But you can start follow 5 influcers in your domain and see if you can become like them one day.

4. Join Mastermind group

I don’t know sometime I feel even we are connected, we still feel lonely.

We still need a group of people who could understand what we are doing. That’s why people start to form a small mastermind group.

You can invite a few people between 2 to 5 people to join your mastermind group. You can setup a meeting one every week or every month then discuss with them about your project, ask for their feedback and recommendation the next action or topic to write about.

You will find out it is very helpful. You will get a lot of feedback, suggestion from the people who could understand your mindset and your business.

5. Evaluate your performance

To get some ideas what we need to do or to write next, we can look back and see what we do best in the past. If there’s something you wrote resonated with people, you should do it more and improve it or push it to the next level.

For example, if you write something that have a lot of shares, comments on your blog, you should write more about it.

Explore it more bigger, explain it more deeply because this is something that you know it already worked.

We can follow big idea, but I used to listen to some advice that said follow big idea will not give an immediate impact. We need to know what we do best and start doing more and making it better. That will surely make impact in your life and others. It is because we know how to do it and it works.
