In the latest report regarding the filming of a documentary on Jayavarman VII by a Thai film producer, the Thai embassy issued a statement today indicating that the Thai film production company does not plan to produce this film all by itself.
The Thai company only proposed to Cambodia to cooperate to help Cambodia,
my point of view is that we must produce the film by ourself: crew, staff, credit … producer by ourself. this is the main point we need to think about the future, we can’t just accept any help, some help got an idea behind. and this is not the first time that we are careless on this matter. we think only about today, i got money i say OK. but you don’t think about future and the consequence that might happen. if we looked into the history, we might see clearly how many times we did the mistake by just accepting any help.
to be careful think twice we should not accept this kind of help. i hope the history will not repeat. we should think about it. this is our history, it must be made by Khmer people for Khmer people. this is really important.

Seriously, Khmer should make this movies. They should gathering all the Khmer Film producers make this movies, if this movies successful, I think Khmer Film will come back to live from there on.
I don’t know why our film producers do not commit to make one big film that say bout our great king. It kinda shamed to let the other to come to our home n tell us that v should do this n do that.

Thais try to cash in using Khmer history now. Before they did films about their great queen or whatever and portrayed Khmer as the black assassins that tried to kill their royal family. If this movie is made, guess where the money made from it goes to? THAIS, NOT KHMER. Any idiots who are so happy to accept this obvious dumb offer are stupid cash-hungry traitors.
