A French couple looked for a chef who can cook for their family.
A Cambodian man was offered the position since he was good at cooking and was able to understand basic French. The couple spoke French and knew very little Khmer word that was what sometime made the communication between them was gesture-understanding.
One day, the husband wanted to eat chicken and ordered the chef to cook it. And by understanding, the chef knew what his master want.
While the chef was preparing the ingredient, he realized that he forgot to ask if male or female chicken which his master preference was.
Suddenly, he ran toward the front door by holding a male chicken in right hand and a female one in the left while both of the husband and wife were on the car—they both were about to leave for work.
Not hesitated, he ran forward and stopped in front of the car.
After a while of taking deep breath, he showed the chicken in his hand one by one to the master and asked:
Monsieur, Monsieur… coupé MADAM coupé MONSIEUR? (Meaning cut Mr? or cut Mrs?)
I have no sense of humor but it was one of my success stories. I told this story in my own language three times already to three different groups of people at different times and places. Audiences seemed to like it and laugh finally.
I am not the first source who produces this story out; I only remember that I heard this story once from one of my high school teacher.
