Google Adsense Earnings - How To Maximize

I will share in this post few tips that you might want to test to see if you can increase your Google Adsense earnings.

I understand from the comments of Roadmap to Adsense that many people want to know what they can do if they want to optimize their blogs for Adsense.

Right after I posted Roadmap to Adsense, I received a good feedback from a very closed friend of mine who makes his living from Google Adsense Earnings.

He said this roadmap should be a roadmap to make money from blogging. It might work for Adsense but it might not work well.

I believed him because he earns much more than me.

What he means by saying “it might not work well for Adsense” because if your topic is a low paid keyword or doesn’t have much advertisers, you will not earn much.

We will discuss this in the next few posts to see what kind of topics that we can get high paid keyword.

But at least my advice would give you an idea on how to start a blog which you will have more chance to get your Adsnese account approved.

This post would be useful to those who already have a blog, have Adsense code and wonder why they didn’t get any earning or click.

Here are the tips to increase your Google Adsense Earnings

Position

1. Before Content of Single Post

That’s a commune best position I know so far. It will get a high click rate. You might think it will disturb your reader.

It depends!

If you provide them the good content and display the relevant ads, I don’t think they will complain about it. I tested on KhmerBird and this is the high clickthrough rate (CTR) position.

You can position it to the left and have some text on the right. I prefer to keep it in the center. I will try to put it to the left sometime soon.

2. Top Left Sidebar

As people read from left to right and top to down, the top left sidebar works better than the right sidebar. I will keep testing the current right sidebar for a while but I think I will switch the top left soon.

You can take a look an example of the implementation on howto88.com.

You might want to hide Ads on the home page. If you want to hide the widget sidebar, you can use Widget Logic to help you to put the condition to display or not display the widget.

3. Inside the Header

I saw many blogs with the ads size of 728×90 inside the header. I have tried it but I didn’t get any good result from that position.

I heard it is also a nice position, you can try by yourself.

Color

The commune advice is to set the color of the Ads to the same color of the blog link.

I didn’t get any success with this method.

So I changed the color and font size to default. Now I can get 2% of CTR. The classic blue color would work the best because we all have a commune sense that blue is a link that we can click. That’s why blue color have a hight click rate.

I think there’s no exact rule on this but you need to test it and see which color works the best for you. You might think color is not important but I can tell you that the color do matter!

Try it and you will see the result!

Size

The big box works the best. 338×280 is the best size of all time. 160×600 is also the favorite one. I can’t say 728×90 is good or not but it is also a recommended size from Adsense.

You might want to try other size but so far I don’t see any success with other sizes.

Take your action

If you read this and you don’t take any action, nothing will change. I made this mistake few years ago. I want to know the secret of making money from Adsense. I searched I read tone of advice but I never implement it.

Take your action today or schedule it into your To-do list and do it as soon as you can.

That’s how thing works!

Me and my friend have an idea to create a WordPress theme for Adsense. We both worked and have done a lot of testes with Adsense to get the maximum CTR.

We will transfer our knowledge into this theme.

Our first idea of creating a theme that focus on Adsense because we want to help all the Adsense beginners not to worry about those techniques. We want to free their mind and allow them to focus on writing contents.

We will make sure that the theme will get a good click rate.

That’s the project that is going on behind the scene.

What kind of theme you are using now on your Adsense blogs? Does it give you a high click rate?

Hi Khmerbird, I have one question related to blogging sites. Should we start with Blogspot.com of Google or WordPress? Base on my experience, I used to get Adsense approved from Google on my blogspot site, but I never try with WordPress. Moreover, if we use wordpress/ blogspot to make adsense, which one that we can easily optimize and get more benefit from Google? Thanks!

      Hi,

Maybe it is more easy to get approval when you submit a blogspot blog. Because it belongs to Google as well.

But there’s no reason they refuse a WordPress blog if the blog is good and have useful contents etc.

I cannot say WordPress is good than blogspot. People are using WordPress because it is easy to manage and customize.

There are a lot of plugins that would help us in case we don’t need to write the code by ourselves etc

To my experiences, WordPress is more user-friendly, easy to customize and it ranked well in search engines.

I hope I replied to what you want to know. Let’s me know if you need any further information.
