it was a rush day on the 31 Jan 2008, but finally i was sitting there in front of a scene before everybody. it was about 6 pm, the tourists started to come out from Angkor Wat but some people starting to get it. it’s for the opening day of the les nuits d’angkor 2008.
it was an evening at Angkor that i have not done quite a long time. thank to my boss for the ticket and everything
those sits were empty but as you can see there’s the white paper Reserved :-), that’s why they were empty LOL
it’s like a magic moment when it was getting dark and suddently the temple was illuminated and gave us a moment of magic. Angkor Wat is more beautiful than we though.
it was the last shooting that i could make coz it was not allow to take picture during the show.
there were two parts: one is a “Down by the river”, the ballet choreograph by Carolyn Carlson and music by René Aubry and other part is Preah Chenvong, performed by the Royal University of Fine Arts and the National Theater of Cambodia.
that’s the first time i saw the story of Preah Chenvong - the god with many wifes i guess ![]()
but i wish to see more creation than just a normal classic dance. there was one time, few years back i still remember, they have create crabs and many fishes on the scene, this year i could see only monkey. but the dancers are beautiful.
what left in me is down by the river of Carolyn Carlson, maybe because i like the river and all its sounds. the dance got everthing we could hear down the river, the music composed by René Aubry was magnific. i still looking for the music, i don’t know when i can hear it again but i keep in mind and one day you will see that i will get those of them. it’s just a matter of time.
