Are you looking to buy a wireless speaker for home? There are so many wireless speakers out there, in the market. You might have difficulty to choose which one is the right one for you. Moreover you are looking for a cheap but good quality and it could adapt to your need as well.
If you are like me who like listing to music at home such as at the dinner room, in the bathroom and also in bed.
You don’t want to unplug/plug the speakers when you move around either. In this case, one device will not fit for all.
I have 3 smart and wireless speakers at home. In this post, I will introduce the speakers and where I place them so that I don’t need to move them and carry around the house.
This is Alexa smart speaker, voice-control speaker made by Amazon. It’s a very cool wireless speaker that I put in my Kids bedroom.
You can do a lot of things with Echo Dot. My kids use it mainly for playing music, listen to the bedtime stories, play games and ask for anything they like to know such as weather forecast, name of the music, information about movies etc.
It works very good, except you have to speak very clearly. My English is not so good but my kids speaks better than me. They don’t have any issue in pronunciation with Alexa.
Before going to sleep, we like listing to jokes, pop music and sometime beach sound or raining etc. I am impressed with the free option they are providing. Of course, with free version, we cannot ask for a specific songs but we can ask for top billboard songs or listen to the iHeartRadio which is enough for 30 mins of entertainment before sleep.
The speaker will turn off by itself when the timer is reached.
Next step, we can purchase some smart devices such as power switches and lights to be able to voice control the light and many other things.
This is the Bluetooth speaker that comes with waterproof option and I use it mainly to listen to music while I am taking bath. It sounds a bit crazy but I like the quality of sound coming from this cheap and small speaker.
It doesn’t require any power plug to use it. I can carry it with me anywhere I want. For example, every Sunday when I arrange my clothes to dry outside of the house, I can still enjoy Khmer Golden Oldies by Sinn Sisamouth with this speaker.
The Speaker can play 5 hours of music after full charge. I usually move it around the bathroom and bedroom and from time to time outside of the house as well.
I bought this one for dinning room and sometime we want to voice control YouTube on the TV via Chromecast.
The speaker has two options to connect from your phone: Wifi or Bluetooth. Sometimes I have difficulty in connecting with Wifi then I just connect via Bluetooth.
This smart speaker is not yet available in Cambodia. It is a bit hard to use App because of the Geo-restriction. We use it mainly to listen to music via Bluetooth which is a bit sad because we cannot use its full features.
Recently I managed to connect it to a Spotify account via a VPN connection. It is now more easy to voice control and listing to free music on Spotify via Google Home Mini.
That’s the only function we are using now. Sometime we ask Google Home mini some questions but most of the time, we gave up because Google just refer us to some page they found on the internet. Alexa can reply to use better.
Google Home is more for advanced users, need more technical skills to use it. If you are looking for a smart home speakers for your kids, I would recommend Amazon Echo or any Alex device. It will be more easy for them to use.
