in my dream,
Phnom Penh is a city of trees and flowers,
people live in the houses of wood with a garden,
there’s no automobile, or train or plane but elephants.
in my dream,
Phnom Penh is a city of Civilization,
people take care of their neighbors as their own family,
there’s no robbery, or murder or betrayal but love and respect.
in my dream,
Phnom Penh is a city of dreams,
some dream to be a good father or a good mother,
some dream to be a good son or good daughter,
but no one dreams to be The King or Leader,
we live together like brothers, we talk like a man,
we share what we earn, and we always live in peace.
end.

there are some places in Cambodia’s rural area where this is reality. Your dream maybe closers than you think. you should get away from the city and check rural communities in cambodia remote area
Nice writting, Khmerbird!
It would be nice if ur dream come true but it seems so hard to become real of what u said . Anyway that is very good dream that most ppl wanted . good luck!
Nice post, Bong Khmerbird. Trust all is fine with you and your work. Have a good day.
Nice writing! I love the way of your writing style — short and easy to read but the meaning is very deep. It’s a modern style writing that Nou Hach Journal wants.
thank all for your support, i am glad that everybody can understand the message and enjoy new style
nice, I like it. I’m going to borrow it and post on my blog. But I’ll wait to get an OK from you first. cheers.
Ok with pleasure Soursdey,
It is an interesting expression and desire. But I am wondering if the society you wished should be called a “civilized one.” How can a civilized nation exist without any one dreams to be a leader? How can a civilized country be developed without an organized institution where leaders stay? Anyway, it is a very good poem which desired and dreamed about a society consisting of fundamental principles and philosophies including peace, mutual respect, careness and tolerance.
If you just changed a little bit from “King or Leader” to “Controller, Conquer, Dictator” or “Master,” the poem would become more consistent in the meaning. At any rate, I wish to have these fundamental principles in the modern civilization, but not in the traditional or conservative or old civilization. Of course, you can have your own thought and conception of the civilization.
