As we made a deal together that we will extend more topics on KhmerBird, I like to share with you on quick guidelines on how you can store your files online for free, without costing you anything.
Why You Need Online Storage?
The hard disk of your computer or laptop might be damage one day. I am sure you don’t want to lose any important files. You might already do a full backup of your hard drive to an external hard disk or USB flash memory.
There’s nothing wrong with the current solution that you already have. But if we can store them on the cloud storage, we don’t need to buy or carry any flash or hard drive. Everything is up there in the cloud. It follows us everywhere we go. We can access to it anytime, anywhere. But just remember one thing: you will need to have internet connection.
Another advantage of Online storage is that you can access your files from any device: computer, laptop and mobile phone.
And the risk of damage or inaccessibility of the cloud storage is very small. It designed to be Online all the time.
I think now you have a better idea what is an Online storage and its advantages.
How To Get A Free Online Storage
There are many free online storage out there but I will introduce only 3 here:
I am using it and I am happy with it. Now I have a total of 5 GB of free storage. Dropbox is the most popular online storage right now. First you need to sign up to have an account with them, then download the correct version of Dropbox to different devices that you have.
You will not need to plug any cable to synchronize photos or documents between computer and mobile. All can be done via Dropbox.
If you not yet have an account, click on this link: 2 GB Free DropBox Sign Up, you will get everything settle. By using my referral link, you will give me more space to use. Thank you in advance.
Enjoy and let us know your experience with it.
There was one time that they give a free space of 50 GB to Android users. If you are using any Android device, you can search “Box” from Google Play and sign up an account. I am not sure if the period of promotion ended up or not but at least you will get 5 GB of Free storage for sure.
I don’t use much of Box yet but the main difference from Dropbox is that they don’t provide any desktop installer. To upload or download the files from computer, you need to log in into their website.
They provide mobile application to any smart mobile: Android, iPhone, iPad and Blackberry.
I still like the auto synchronization of Dropbox that works well on any device.
3. Google Drive
Google announced just yesterday that they also provide free storage of 5 GB. I already sign up but still on the waiting list to get my Google drive.
Here is the video explain about Google Drive:
You can start request your Google drive via this link: Google Drive Start.
Let me know if your Google drive is available before mine.
