Sometime there are too much information. We lost our time in finding the good sources related to a topic. My goal to create this blog is to keep update people about the information related to Cambodia. I don’t want them to know only about genocide, Pol Pot, Khmer Rouge. You would probably get used to those terms when you type “Cambodia” in your search engines such as Google or Yahoo or others search engines.
I found Thoora has a very good algorithm to determine what is the most important thing that people are talking around the internet. I have benefit from their nearly 5,000 traditional media sources to get the top 5 stories as you can read on the right sidebar.
Unfortunately Thoora don’t provide the feed. I have used Dapper to generate the Rss Feed from Thoora. Then at the end, I have used another good feed tool of Yahoo called Yahoo Pipes.
If you want to display the Top Story on your blog, it’s very easy. You can use Rss widgets that already available in your wordpress platform, pointed to my Yahoo Pipes Cambodian News.
In the future, I want to have my own database that can grab all the information around the internet but this will need a lot of help. If you like the programing and you want to join for this project, you can let me know.
I hope you enjoy this new Top Story feature on this blog.

I'm a blogger from Cambodia. I like traveling, reading and writing. I am interested in blogging, social media and content marketing.
Make sure you follow me on twitter or facebook, the updated news will automatically send to my twitter/facebook account profile.
Check out the option of subscription on the top right sidebar. thanks
Adding more sources and still need to fix some issues on Yahoo Pipes, sometime the feed is not available maybe due to Yahoo pipes response time. I am thinking to run the Rss feed reading on my own hosting but will need sometime to understand how it works.
Any comments let me know.
The default of the timing refresh of RSS is 12 hours. I have check and add the script to have a refresh every 10 minutes. It will give us more update on what the world talks about Cambodia.
