last week, i and Bol (www.khmerplus.com) want to spend an evening at internet café and using wi-fi
we went to Sovanna shopping center, we started first with Café Sentiment, we ordered something to drink then we open the laptop and started to do some connection setting.
Bol just bought his laptop from US and as it’s the beginning it took us something to find out how to connect wi-fi in windows Vista. it was OK due to technical issue and then it’s started to get connection.
but it was really slow, and i cannot browse even a page … a while later the people working there came and talk to us, they change the password for configuration, then we started to reset and did some new setting but it was not much changed.
we thought the other place might get better connection, then we moved to T and C coffee at the first floor of Sovanna Shopping Center. i ordered the second coffee, which after that it make my heart beats a bit fast. and there also got some trouble due to they need to reset again and again the modem or antenna…
i bought 2 coffee at two different Wi-Fi zone and i can’t even browse a page, sic!
then we move to Corner 33, near national museum, the place was nice and we finally can get connection, the speed was quite good and we did enjoy the Angkor beers there and surf which could warm a bit my heart to calm it down and beats as a normal rhythm.
i would not order more than two coffee just to benefit of Wi-Fi zone, it will kill me one day
we were lucky … but how to find a good Wi-Fi zone and not to be depend on luck.
if you experience wi-fi more than us, please advise where we can find a good wi-fi connection in town?
thank in advance,

I used to access Wi-Fi at Setiment cafe in Sovanna Mall but its speed is really slow, sometimes it made me crazy, even Sentiment cafe along Monivong Blvd. Yes, internet speed at Corner 33 is better than other places where i used to access. Almost WiFi at cafe shops are very slow. By the way, when i used internet at internet cafe, it speed is very slow as well.
I think the government signed contract w/ Vietnam company to install FiOS in Cambodia. I am not sure when exactly this will be done. Let just hope that this will happen sooner. Have you all ever tried the wireless internet via cellphone? Any opinion about that?
oh i have tried and it will be posted soon. anyway it’s still a limited option.
fastest i know is Fresco on riverside
