Preah Sihanouk Beach

Preah Sihanouk Beach

during these few days, i was in Preah Sihanouk for work and i have some free time to discover what’s new on Ochheuteal beach,

i was laying down in a comfortable chair, take the sea fresh air amount all the foreigners tourists, i eat like them, i drink like them and i realized Preah Sihanouk has changed his strategies and facilities to welcome the tourists, even in this hard situation, i think most of tourists enjoys their time at the most beautiful Cambodian beach.

most the food are set not to pass USD 3 and the beer can started from 50 cents (USD 0.50), it’s the ANCHOR draft, the local Angkor beer is a bit expensive, a draft is USD 1, i don’t know why… but at happy hours the price is set to the same tariff: only 50 cents.

most of the restaurant set the same standard price, for lunch time they proposed various choice with the reasonable price … at the night time, when the sun is gone, it’s time for BBQ

we can find the showing box where we can see all fresh seafood, it’s amazing whatever your choice, wherever you sit, it’s all the same tariff: 3 dollars for food and 50 cents for a beer,

Mr. John

John at Martini Beach restaurant

we were enjoyed BBQ at Martini Beach and the people there are friendly and especially the food was great.

at night we were enjoyed late drink at Nap house, i was invited by an English woman to dance with her, i am not sure if she could recognize me again lol, but the ambiance was chilled up and full of people, for 50 cents per drink and very cheap vodka, or any other cocktails.

what give me the bad reflection was all those restaurant was run by foreigners, we Khmer people should organize something similar, i experiences a lot of bad things with Cambodian restaurants on the beach, too expensive, chairs, food, bath also need to pay …

i expected those Cambodian restaurant owners would start to think about long time business, reasonable price and enthusiast the costumers. maybe one day this will happen and more tourists will come and come back again, this is important to make them come back again.

what about you, do you have any experience at Ochheuteal beach or any part of Preah Sihanouk to share?

PS: sorry about being late to setting up the free blogs, i need to solve some technical issues, hope you would wait and test it.

That is great. I like to lay down on the fold chair at the beachfront to relax.

I totally agree on the bathroom that we had to pay. I thought that was really strange. Then again, I haven’t gone back to Srok Khmer in 25 years. Too little to remembered anything. Other than that, we really enjoy Sihanoukville. It is unfortunate that Khmer people don’t think of long term. I hope they change their habit of making business. The benefit of getting customers through an excellence customer services better than charging high price and giving crappy product. :)

My two cents.

I don’t think I am that much older than you. Well, I don’t feel old at least. :) I assume that you in your thirty, and for me to add six more to it. However, one of these days I will be visiting again. I hope to go when the kids a little older. My husband does want to go sooner than later. I would love to visit Monduol Kiri and Ratanak Kiri. This time will be less work and more fun. :)

This beautiful beach is going to lost their beauty day by day if people continue to do like this. throwing the rubbish everywhere, let the bad water into the beach especially in the water, and compare to the beach in other country that doesn’t have this beautiful beach like our country they’re not allow to make the restaurant close to the beach like that. i remember when i was young i always go to the beach and we have a space for play food ball or volleyball with my friends, but today i don’t even have a space to sit and relax. Everything have to pay even one sit. I’m not enjoy my life at this beach anymore, so please think again

thank Kuong for your comment,
i do agree that there are too many restaurant and all sit are expensive, no more space for private anymore,
especially you are right about rubbish, should put the label everywhere

there’s another thing also is the beggars, i am not against to help them to give them some money but need to find another place to help them and not allow them to go and ask for money from tourists,

sometime i am tried of seeing them again and again from morning till night,
we should help to find a better and give more comfortable moment to people to relax,
