If you are planning to visit Cambodia (or you are already in the Kingdom), I guess we have good news for you.
I think you might have some expectation what Cambodia can offer you such as: cultures, humble lifestyles, and variety of foods. I want to discuss in this post about the opportunities that you could grab a seat and get a job.
Cambodia is going forward to catch up with other countries. There are a lot of developments and demands for human resources, both from foreign and local.
The fact that many types of jobs are occupied and grabbed by our local people, there are still yards of room for foreigners who wish to experience not only visiting the country but also working in the Kingdom.
Jobs are still available, especially those jobs that require high technicalities and skills, which Cambodians haven’t yet entrusted the investors to leave them the jobs.
I shall remind you two things:
- The salaries from the jobs might not be as high as one in your countries (and that responds to the lower living cost in town too).
- There is no 100%-yes chances that you’ll get the jobs just because you’re the foreigners in this developing-nation country.
Foreigners in Cambodia are likely to get hired in the education sector.
That means, the foreigners are welcomed to be teachers or even lecturers of English at various schools and universities which have been growing around the country.
Despite there are local human resources to fill the position, some company still feel that foreigners teach and complete the task better.
As far as I heard, the payment ranges from 12-20$/hour.
The payment is not that much, you may say. But if you do love to stay longer in Cambodia and at the same time make some pocket-money, I think you can help us for the improvement of the sector.
Besides, there are also various positions at different foreign NGOs that foreigners might not want to miss. There are positions such as coordinators, managers, officers or even volunteers.
These positions also carry along with this special sense of helping Cambodia to grow.
Moreover, you may want to engage in private business sectors. The investments are coming and flowing. There are many positions that require high technicalities and skills and experiences which investor are not confident enough to offer Cambodians the positions.
Those positions might include: sale manager, project manager, senior software developer/web designer and other works such as financial and banking, energy, gas, oil-extracting gas and mineral, auditing, engineering and construction sector.
You can also run your very own business in the Kingdom.
I’m not kidding with this, seriously.
You see, the development is on the way. The following fields are appropriate to start a business: hotel/motel, restaurants, bar/clubs, interior designs, arts, education, digital advertisement, technology and many more.
Another way, if you have something unique and wanna bring awareness to the nation concerning that skills and field, well, I hope you do it. A fashion designer, for example.
All in all, since Cambodia is running developments, more jobs are coming and available for both Cambodians and foreigners.
For Buddha’s sake, I hope any job you pick would bring improvements to Cambodia.

Finally, we salute and welcome you in our Kingdom. Welcome to the Kingdom of Cambodia, my beloved visitors!
