i have been looking for years, a theme that i wanted. i planed to ask someone soon to customize a theme for me, but when i found WP MAX, i said oh my god ! the theme is just what i need. the WP MAX response exactly to what i need, it’s some kind of finding a someone got the same idea LOL
more than what i expected they have the feature that find automatically the picture in your old posts and make it as thumbnail photo, it’s really cold, the plugin need are included in the zip file, you just need to past it to the plugin folder and with some explanation that you can find find in theme option it would help enough to make it running,
and the most important thing it’s free ! it’s a beautiful work! thanks to all those guys, i really appreciate for this fabulous wordpress theme.

yes, i love this theme. a bit hard to understand and customized because it’s not like a traditional wordpress theme but it’s good to try. i am a bit lucky all my recent posts were posted with pictures so that the theme will detect automatically.

for carousel, i have a new category carousel and add the category id at the WP MAX option, then i go to my old posts and add category carousel to the posts, if you old posts got picture, it will generate photo automatically, if your old post don’t have picture, u need to add picture to customized field called image.

in your post, Add new custom field, fill in the name: image

Unfortunately, didn’t work. I already try: latestthumb, image, Image, thumb, Thumb, thumbnail and Thumbnail, but any of them work well.

maybe it looks from only the gallery of the post itself,
you can try to add new image from the post of your latest news,
you can do it from the editor window, add a new image and copy the url of the image, it will look something like this: /wp-content/uploads/2009/01/rithy-panh.jpg
to find the link of your upload url, just click on file url after you uploaded the photo. you don’t have to insert the photo into the post but just need to click save at the bottom.
try to add the custom field again with the following parameters:
name: image
value: /wp-content/uploads/2009/01/rithy-panh.jpg

i tried myself, it’s not too hard to understand, u can define the custom filed and name it anything you want, then u can call it back at the front page.

but for example rithy-panh.jpg need to be the one that you found in gallery of your post, i think experience the same problem when i tried to link to external url or image from other posts.
u need to upload the image from the post that u want to use the image. then it will automatically detect your photo and if you have many photo you can add the value in image custom field.

first make sure you enable the FLV video plugin,
then on the appearance, WP Max option, make sure you select the right category number for the video

I already placed the flash plugin at wp plugin folder
in flash setting i have used the following url

if i play this link its working fine , the video is working on the particular comment page but not able to play that video on home page, you can check it out at www,webburners.com , i am not able to figure out whts wrong with the media plugin , i also reinstall it many times but nothing goes ma ways

i believe the plugin was fine, but maybe something wrong with the category number,
re: preview images
i couldnt get the preview to work either, so i looked at the code – in functions.php – and the author did not put this option in (i.e. the variable for a preview image).
so, i wrote a hack that works for youtube videos, by stripping the youtube code and now the amended functions.php will look for a jpg of the youtube video code inside the images folder of the wp-max directory.
i.e.
http://www.hostelandrea.com/wp-content/themes/wp-max/images/B2Ii2UfDfQ8.jpg
the amended php file is here, ive added a simple explanation: (i zipped it up)

you might want to change from 10 to 7 at the video category setting,
i have jst given the example but my cat id is 7 in real
ah ok, another suggestion is to remove the ads box first, i could see the layout is modified a bit when you put some banner advertising, it might cause the payout unstable
let’s try a test with original them, to see if it’s work on your server.
otherwise i don’t see any wrong with it.

Thanks for the suggestion buddy , but i think some probs occuring due to my server config , most probably , my server doesnt support php5 at all , it may happen sometimes that i get error of database connection. I am still new to wordpress and still making up with it but i really love the way everything works with wordpress .can u suggest something to get the highyer ranking

1st, u can delete the number on the Flick Gallery ID on the WP-MAX Option to remove the photos.
2nd, have to change picture on logo.gif

I am just starting to use WP-Max. But I am having some problems with the template. Can anyone help? By the way the website is still in development.
1. When I have the Media Browser displaying my video files, then my Front Page Categories not showing anything. Only if i turn off my Media Browser then my Front Page Categories display all the articles. I have changed the VIDEOID to the category ID and have also set the category ID inside the Video Options to the same as category ID.
2. I can not get my posts displaying any of the thumbnails.
Any suggestions? By the way I am using wordpress v3.0
