5 Tips To Get Your Website Approved By Google Adsense

Google Adsense

How to get a Google Adsense account is the most commune question I received. I will try to share my experiences about Google Adsense and explain what type of website you should create or build in order to get approval from Google Adsense.

Some people applied for so many times but they didn’t get approval. I hope this post will tell them more or less why Google didn’t approve their website and what they can do about it.

It is based only on my own experiences. It might not reflect 100% to the exact event but at least, I hope it could give you some basic understanding about how to create a website for Google Adsense.

1. Copyright does matter

The contents on your website need to have copyright or at least not getting involved with any copyright violation. For example, if you create a website for downloading music or movie online, there’s no chance that Google will approve your Adsense application.

You might argue with me you saw some websites that provide downloading music or movie could display Adsense. You’re right. It might be the case. But I can tell you that soon or later, after Google find out those publishers who violent their AdSense program policies, they will ban their accounts.

I don’t want you to be one of them.

Those publishers take the risks. Once you get your Adsense account, you can display Ad on many other websites that you own. But those websites need to comply to Google Adsense policies. When Google find out, they might ask you to remove the code from uncomplied website or they simply ban your entire account.

So be careful with it. There’s nothing you can hide or cheat in this long journey.

So check out these Prohibited contents and avoid them.

2. Original contents

You need to publish your own contents. You might not have chance to get approval if you just copy contents from others. I don’t know exactly how Google verify, but usually they know who first publish the content.

They will not give any value of your website without your own original contents.

If you don’t have time to write, you can hire writers. iWriter is a good place to get your contents written. You can reject the content if you don’t like it. You pay only for contents that you like and give value to your audience.

Some of contents you read here are also written by premium writers there.

3. Visitors

I don’t think Google will approve on your Adsense application when no one visits your website. You need to wait until you have some visitors and some comments before you apply for Adsense account. I would suggest you wait at least 3 months after you create the website. This is to make sure that Google index your contents and allow people to discover your website, interact with your contents.

This will prove to Google that you have a certain amount of audiences that might interests in clicking Ad.

4. Provide benefits to others

Anybody can create a website these days. There are too many websites on the internet. You need to find your own unique sale proposition to make your website stand out. In the eye of Google, they will give priority to websites that provide benefits to others.

There are many topics you could write about. But if you main purpose is to get approval from Adsense, think of something that might be useful to others. Create a website that could provide solutions to a specific problem. This will help Google to have a good reason to approve your account.

If you can’t answer why people need to visit website, Google will not find any reason to approve your account either.

5. Declare Privacy Policies

There are some required pages that you need to create on your website before you apply for Google Adsense. One of the important page that you need to create is “Privacy Policies”. You can write on your own word or use this policy generator.

This is to notify users that Google will use cookies to serve Ad.

There are few other pages that are not mentioned by Adsense policies but I think it is good if you can create for your website such as: About Page and Contact Page.

I hope these 5 tips will help you to prepare even before you apply for your first Adsense account. I wish you all the best.

I’m currently working on a personal blog hoping to earn some revenue by displaying ads from google adsense. However, my earning tab is inactive; it reads “Your blog doesn’t currently qualify for AdSense.” Could you have a look at it and give me some feed back about what should I do?

      Hi Vichhay,

I used Media Temple. It’s a grid server, a shared one. I used also W3 Total cache which helps my site to load more faster.

We are now receiving between 300-500 visitors per day.
